From Micah 7:7-9 “Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the GOD of my salvation: my GOD will hear me……When I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a LIGHT unto me………HE will bring me forth to the LIGHT, and I shall behold his righteousness.”

I love Lori Wick’s books. So many
good spiritual truths. In this one (Jessie) she talks about Jesus dying for sins
that have yet to be committed and the difference between the law and grace in
that law required one animal sacrifice after another to atone for sin, and
living under grace where Christ’s death on the cross covered All sin for All
time. It’s there for us. How can we ever neglect so great a
salvation when it is so freely and fully provided. How AWESOME is our
God, and how fortunate we are to live in the day of grace.

Proverbs 2:2-5 ”Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice
for understanding: if thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her
as for hidden treasures; then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and
find the knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom; out of HIS mouth
cometh knowledge and understanding. HE layeth up sound wisdom for the
righteous; HE is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. HE keepeth the
paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of HIS saints. Then shalt thou
understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.”

“The Shepherd of the Hills” by Harold Bell Wright. Edited by Michael R. Phillips. Page 240.
“We build temples and churches, but will not worship in them. We hire spiritual advisers, but refuse to heed them. We buy Bibles, but will not read them. Believing in God, we do not fear HIM. Acknowledging CHRIST, we neither follow nor obey HIM. Only when we can no longer strive in the battle for earthly honors or material wealth do we turn to the unseen and more enduring things of life and hear and see the things we have so long refused to consider.”

“Let a man set his heart only on doing the will of God and he is instantly set free! No one can hinder him. It is only when we introduce our own will into our relation to God that we get into trouble. When we weave into the pattern of our lives threads of our own desires we instantly become subject to hindrances from the outside.”

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because HIS compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is THY faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

Jeremiah 32:17b-18 “I prayed unto the LORD, saying, Ah LORD GOD! Behold, THOU hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for THEE.”

The strongest prayer is not one of asking for earthly needs, though too many people feel that is the only reason to pray at all. The greatest petition we can place before the holy throne is the request to be brought into the presence of our LORD. Seek HIM, and in your seeking find your own way forward. Let HIM show what is to come next, not by asking for guidance, but rather by begging HIM to enter and dwell within you…….If you can only find your way back to your knees, you will discover that step-by-step you are moving ever closer to holy ground. Of this I am absolutely certain.” Page 215 The Book of Hours by Davis Bunn
